Always faithful to the matrix of jazz, Gregory Porter adds varying doses of soul music, R&B and gospel to his music, always interpreting it with full understanding of the entire creative process, an irreproachable technique at all levels. and an emotional authority hard to match. Gregory Porter sings, in fact, with an open heart directly to all hearts that allow themselves to be opened to his music. Every time he passes a stage, an experience invariably more interesting than on record,  results in a musical and emotional storm to which only stony ears and hearts of stone could remain indifferent.

With the support of a group of the highest stature, which includes pianist Chip Crawford , saxophonist Tivon Pennicott , bassist Jahmal Nichols and drummer Emanuel Harrold , Porter's singing manages to combine all the best ingredients of the great singers of soul music, including all that soul rooted in gospel, to an absolutely perfect jazz technique, in which the time in which each syllable is uttered is a constant surprise. One could even say that surprise is the greatest constant in the music of Gregory Porter, a singer capable of reinventing himself in each concert, without ever repeating himself, something that makes him, irrefutably, one of the most impressive musicians and performers. of jazz today.
